Under the patronage of the respected President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Director-General of the Center for Marine Sciences, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Zahra Abdul-Rasoul

The Department of Marine Biology at the Marine Science Center held a workshop entitled (methods of shrimp farming and the possibility of application within the waters of Basra) and in the presence of specialized professors from the Basra Agriculture Directorate and the Department of Fish and Marine Resources at the College of Agriculture and some investors and breeders in Basra Governorate. The workshop was presented by the Prof. Dr. Salem Abdel Mutlak, Dr. Tariq Hattab Yassin and Dr. Aqil Abdel Sahib gave lectures to introduce its objectives, and constructive discussions were held about the reality of shrimp farming in the governorate and the treatments to be applied by following the correct scientific foundations. Iran The workshop also touched on the most important obstacles facing shrimp farming, represented by the diseases that they infect and ways to prevent them. Confront them with providing the necessary solutions.
