 Under the patronage of the respected President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Director General of the Marine Science Center, Prof. Dr. Nuri Abdulnabi Nasser, the Department of Marine Biology at the Marine Science Center, in cooperation with the Directorate of Basrah Agriculture, held a workshop entitled “Life applications to improve the benefits of the ecosystem in the earthen ponds for propegation”  Aquariums in Basrah and in the presence of the  Governor Assistant of Basrah for Agricultural Affairs, representatives of the Governor’s office, the Directorate of Agriculture, Directorate of Environment, the Directorate of Water Resources in Basrah, the Marsh Rehabilitation Center, a number of fish farmers from the private sector, professors and researchers in the center..Lectures were given by the organizers of the workshop to introduce its objectives, and were conducted  valuable discussions dealt with the reality of fish farming in the governorate of Basrah and the treatments to be applied by following the correct scientific foundations and modern techniques through the integration between research work in universities and field application in relevant governmental and private institutions.. It was agreed to continue scientific cooperation and activate what was stated in the recommendations of this workshop in preparation for the establishment of  Another workshop to review the results.
