Dr. Abdul-Amir Rahim Jassim, Director General of the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra, received the ministerial committee tasked with evaluating research centers at Iraqi public and private universities in accordance with the approved research center evaluation form, underscoring the university’s commitment to quality standards and institutional accreditation.

The visit aimed to conduct a comprehensive on-site evaluation of the center, covering scientific and administrative aspects as well as infrastructure—particularly the marine research laboratories—and to verify the extent to which its research outputs align with the National Development Plan in the fields of aquatic resources and the marine environment.

During the meeting, the Director General noted that the center was fully prepared to provide the committee with all necessary resources, highlighting the center’s outstanding research achievements over the past period. He expressed his confidence that the evaluation would contribute to supporting scientific research and improving performance in line with the university’s vision and the guidelines of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
