The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized a training course on first aid with the participation of a number of its members.
The course, which was held in cooperation with the Red Crescent Society/Basra Branch, included lectures by paramedics Mr. Zain Al-Abidin Hassan Ali and Mr. Qusay Abdullah Khadir, in which they discussed the role played by the association during peace and war conditions in providing first aid.
The course aims to inform participants of the importance of first aid provided by paramedics to the injured person who needs help in emergency cases and accidents.
The course addressed the most important duties of the paramedic, which are summarized in preserving the lives of the injured in accidents and emergencies, speed in performing work, recording the date and type of injury, and diagnosing its course to prevent complications.
The course addressed the duties of the paramedic, which are represented in providing moral support to the injured and not neglecting minor injuries, and how to record information and contact the specialized ambulance team.
At the end of the course, the Director General of the Marine Science Center praised the efforts made to make the course a success and presented certificates of thanks and appreciation to those who contributed to its success.
