The Marine Science Center at Basrah University discussed and the Ministry of Transport a cooperation protocol. The Director General of the Marine Science Center, Prof. Dr. Nuri Abdul Nabi Nasser and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Basil, Head of the Department of Physics and Marine Estuaries, recepted the Advisor to the Minister of Transport, Dr. Kazem Jafar Al Talal. During the visit, some important topics were discussed.  Such as, The average, highst and lowest Iraqi seawater level, as well as determining the places of erosion and sedimentation, in addition to know  the impact of the building of breakwater in FAW port on biological diversity. And the ability of the MSC staff to determine the baseline of the seawaters using modern geodetic methods has been discussed.  From it the measurements of defining and demarcating the borders of the Iraqi territorial sea.
