The Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the University of Basra organized a workshop entitled (Controls and Instructions for the Performance Evaluation Process According to the Updated Forms for the Year 2023-2024) with the participation of quality officials in the university's colleges and centers.

The workshop aimed to clarify the concept of performance evaluation, its importance and objectives, and the role of senior administrative leaders in developing and improving it in order to advance university education.

The workshop, which was lectured by the Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance, Dr. Abdul Karim Taher Yasser, the Head of the Performance Evaluation Division, Dr. Rahim Khazal Masawil, and the Head of the Technical Training Unit, Duaa Shahid Habib, addressed the basic assumptions of quality, with the development of detailed and structural plans for the educational quality produced at the university. The workshop also showed that performance evaluation is not a goal or an end, but rather a means to develop performance, as the educational institution evaluates all its elements from the curriculum, environment, and scientific research, depending on the efficiency of the teaching staff.

The workshop recommended the necessity of publishing scientific research in international journals and studying approved programmatic standards according to the scientific plan form, in addition to identifying the strengths and weaknesses in evaluating university performance and trying to improve it for the better.
