Joint scientific cooperation between the Marine Science Center and the Basra Agriculture Directorate
The Basra Agriculture Directorate held a meeting headed by the Basra Agriculture Director, in the presence of a committee from the center represented by Dr. Tariq Hattab Yassin and Dr. Mahmoud Shaker Hashem and Dr. Aqeel Abdel-Sahib and Dr. Intisar Muhammad, in addition to the presence of the Chairman of the Scientific Committee, the Director of the Department of Fish, Agricultural Extension and Follow-up, and a number of agricultural engineers in the Directorate to research and prepare some projects related to the development of the fisheries situation in the governorate. During the meeting, topics were discussed about preparing a study on the extension center in Al-Faw district, Al-Ma’amer region. To convert it into a marine fish hatchery. And implementing a marine farming project.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to form joint committees between the two parties in order to conduct field visits to the projects and determine the needs required for them in order to develop the fish reality in the governorate.
