The teaching staff member at the Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah, the assistant Lecturer , Hala Fadel Hassan, presented an electronic lecture
  included an introduction to the Rotifers, their classification, naming, cultivation, life span,  places of existence, types, methods of collection and reproduction, and the application of the latest molecular techniques used to classify them and diagnose new species. It also included the possibility of their propagation and the mass production of  them in the laboratory ... Global isolates belonging to the genus Brachionus were recorded for the first time in Iraq.  Brachionus as an important part of the fish food chain
