[Marine Science Center] 

 Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and the supervision of the Director-General of the Marine Science Center, Prof. Dr. Nuri Abdul-Nabi Nasser, and the Dean of the College of Sciences, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mowaffaq Fadel Al-Shahwan; [ the Marine Science Center and the College of Science at the University of Basrah held the second scientific conference for the environment and marine sciences for the period from  December 28-29, 2021.  Surat Al-Fatihah was read to the souls of the martyrs and the national anthem was followed by the speech of the honorable President of the university and the speech of the director general of the  Marine Science Centre and the speech of the respected Dean of the College of Science and in the presence of a number of guests, deans, faculty members and employees of state departments.  The conference included several topics in the fields of aquatic environment, environmental chemistry, physics, climate changes, biological sciences, biotechnologies and sedimentation processes in rivers and marine coasts.  The number of participating research reached about fifty, in which researchers from Iraqi, Arab and foreign universities participated.  The conference also came out with a number of important recommendations.  The conference concluded with a speech by the Director General of the Center, in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the scientific and organizing committee and all participants for their efforts in making the conference succesful .
