The Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah organized a scientific Seminar on algae cultivation presented by Dr. Aqeel Abdul-Sahib
The Seminar aimed to find alternative nutrition through the establishment of algae farms with high nutritional value due to the high prices of food, which costs too much  to farmers, whether those interested in raising animals such as cows, buffaloes, birds or fish due to the low costs of establishing algae farms as well as the short life cycle, which does not exceed seven days  In some species, the lecture also came out with some recommendations
Encouraging mixed farms and raising fish that graze on algae as well as preventing toxic algae blooms is the main objective by planting green algae such as Chlorella and Scenedesmus at the beginning of the growing season, as they protect the farm from blue-green algae by sorting secondary metabolites when they are present together.
